Our Staff

Doug Wills - Pastor

Bro. Doug has been Pastor of Norphlet FBC since March, 2009. Doug is a native of Clarksville, Arkansas, but has lived in several areas across the “Natural State”, including Conway and Norman, and now in Norphlet.

Doug has been in the pastorate for over 10 years, serving both at Norphlet and at First Baptist Church of Norman, AR. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 2002. He is also a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Education- Social Studies.
Doug has been married to Tammy for almost 20 years. Tammy, a native of Fordyce, AR, is a Kindergarten teacher at Norphlet Elementary. They have two sons, Weston & Mason. Weston is a 2013 Norphlet Graduate, planning to attend Ouachita Baptist University, majoring in Choral Music Education. He is actively involved in music both in school and in the church.
Mason will begin 7th grade in the fall of 2013 at Norphlet High School. He is in the Norphlet Junior High Band & Choir, and active in church activities.
Doug enjoys classic country music, old TV shows, and a good book, especially biographies. Stop by the office and you will probably find him listening to old Jerry Clower records, and drinking a Diet Dew most days.
Doug has a passion for ministering to all age groups. He has a great time almost every Sunday Morning during the Children’s Sermons, usually with his bowl of fruit snacks for the kids at his side. He also enjoys Vacation Bible School, the annual Fall Fest, the Senior Adult outings, and the occasional game of volleyball!
Doug is excited about what God is doing at Norphlet FBC! He invites you to take the Next Step of Faith with us!

Jennifer Michaels - Worship Leader

Jennifer Michaels has been the worship leader at Norphlet FBC since April 2013. Jennifer grew up in Houma, Louisiana (Cajun land) and lived in South Louisiana her entire life until Alex, her husband of 6 years, and she began looking for band directing jobs, which led them to El Dorado, where they currently reside. Alex is in his 5th year as the assistant band director at El Dorado High School, where he heads the Jazz Band Program and team teaches the 5th-12th grade bands. Jennifer and Alex have 3 babies - 2 Great Danes named Solomon and Serenity and 1 cat named May. And, yes, they are spoiled!
Jennifer graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Music for French Horn Performance. She has taught music - choir, orchestra, elementary music, and band - in both Louisiana and Arkansas. She is in her 4th year as the Band Director of the Norphlet School District and in the 6th year of her teaching career. She is currently working on her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at Arkansas State University.
Jennifer enjoys reading and doing arts and crafts, specifically wreath making. She loves to play her French horn and sing (sometimes singing out loud without even realizing it is happening). She enjoyed working in children's and youth ministries throughout her college years. She hopes to continue using the talents God has blessed her with for His glory through music ministry to spread His Word and His love.
